Registration Fees

$50 registration fee is due at enrollment for each dance season. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Preschool I & Preschool II Tuition – $65

Preschool I and Preschool II Class tuition is broken into 5 installments each semester and is due on the following dates:

  • Fall – at time of registration, September 1, October 1, November 1, December 1
  • Spring – January 1, February 1, March 1, April 1, May 1

Performance Information

Preschool students will participate in a performance at the end of each semester.

Winter Performance – During the last week of classes in December, ROOTS will hold an In-Studio Performance and Party for each Preschool class! Performances will be during your normal class day and time.

  • Performance Fee ($40) is due on November 1

ROOTS Dance Recital – Preschool classes will perform at the ROOTS Dance Recital in June at Ingram Hall.

  • Costume Fee ($80 + tax) is due on October 1.
  • Recital Performance Fee ($100 per participant) is due on February 1.
  • NOTE: Students that participate in both the Winter Performance and ROOTS Dance Recital will receive a 25% discount on their Recital Performance Fee. 

Dress Code


  • A leotard and pink tights are required. Skirts are also allowed, but if they become a distraction in class students will be asked to take them off or not wear them the next week. NO costumes or dresses. All outfits must be leotard based.
  • Pink Leather ballet shoes are required for all toddler and preschool classes.
  • Preschool I & II students should also wear black Mary Jane style tap shoes.


  • A white or black shirt with black shorts or pants are required.
  • Black ballet or slip on jazz shoes are required for all toddler and preschool classes.
  • Preschool I & II students should also wear black lace up tap shoes.

General Tuition Policies

  • Tuition is charged per student and calculated by hours taken in one week.
  • A registration fee is due at enrollment for each dance season. Registration fees are non-refundable.
  • Tuition is determined based on the total number of classes in the year (August – June) is broken into 10 even installments, 5 installments per semester. Tuition is not determined by the number of classes in any particular month, as some months will have fewer classes and some months will have more.
  • First month’s tuition is due at the time of registration. Tuition is due on the 1st of the month beginning in a student’s second month.
  • Tuition is due regardless of student absence. Missed classes are non-refundable. Tuition is NOT pro-rated for absences, inclement weather days, holidays, or Recital Picture Week.
  • Tuition will be pro-rated for students that enroll after classes have begun.
  • Tuition can be paid via credit card, debit card, personal check or automatic bank draft.
    • We require a credit card be kept on file and encourage payment by credit card.
    • After 7 days, a $15 late fee will be charged and enforced on all accounts past due. Late notices will be sent via email.
      • Payments 20 days past due will result in lesson suspension.
    • Payments 30 days past due will result in lesson termination and the date and time slot will be released for new students.

  • We offer a 10% sibling discount.

Withdrawal Policy

Enrollment at ROOTS Academy is for the entire season. However, we understand that extenuating circumstances sometimes necessitate withdrawal during the season.

  • Withdrawal from any class requires at least 2 weeks’ notice before your next billing due date (if you’re not sure what that date is, just ask!).
  • To withdraw from your classes, just submit your request using the Dance Withdrawal Form.
  • Withdrawal requests submitted up to 2 weeks before the next billing due date will incur no additional charges. Students remain on the schedule through the remainder of their billing cycle unless otherwise specified on the withdrawal form.
  • Withdrawals received within 2 weeks of the billing due date will owe 25% of their next bill. Students may attend one additional class for that following billing period.
  • Withdrawals received within 1 week of the billing due date will owe 50% of their next bill.
  • Students may attend two additional classes for that following billing period.
  • If a student chooses to re-enroll at any point after withdrawal, the current registration fee and tuition rates will apply.
