This is Mandy’s third year on staff here at ROOTS Academy. Now a full time teacher, she has also worked as a FIT team member, Music Coordinator Interim, and Dance Studio Manager.  Prior to ROOTS Academy, Mandy had the honor of being the Head Dance Team Coach for Vanderbilt University for 5 years.  Before settling at Vandy, Mandy coached/choreographed for other universities including Auburn University, University of Alabama, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham Southern College, and University of Mississippi. Mandy also travels on weekends and judges for Varsity Corporation where she judges on the regional and national level for Dance and Cheer competitions.  She has been a staff member or affiliate of organizations such as Universal Dance Association/ National Dance Association, Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators or America, & Dance Makers Inc. Even though dance was her passion through college, Mandy pursued degrees in Public Relations and Marketing with a minor in Dance Education from the University of Alabama.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama Mandy began dancing at 2 years old and had a successful career which included performances for Miss Alabama State Program, Miss America National, and the highlight of her career was being a member of the United States Dance Ambassadors. There she toured countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Venezuela, England, and Italy.

Mandy now resides in Franklin, TN with her two beautiful daughters, Koco 11, and Coley, 8. When not Coaching Mandy enjoys traveling and being with family and friends.
