Geralyn Del Corso Garner began studying dance at the age of three and received honors in all her exams taught under The London Royal Academy of Dance. At age 12, Geralyn attended The School of American Ballet in NYC on full scholarship. She studied with several world renowned teachers, including; Madame Danilova, Madame Tumkovsky, Suki Schorer, and Stanley Williams, all of whom were hand picked by Mr. George Balanchine. While attending SAB, Geralyn attended summer intensives at The Houston Ballet Academy and The Joffrey Ballet School.

In her youth, Geralyn participated in the SAB annual workshops dancing roles in Western Symphony, Serenade and more, and was chosen for featured roles with New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, The Berlin Opera Ballet, and The Royal Danish Ballet. She was hand picked by Mikhail Baryshnikov for a televised performance of ABT’s production of, The Sleeping Beauty.

Upon leaving SAB, Geralyn continued her training with such notables as: David Howard, Robert Denvers, Maggie Black, Kim Abel and Gelsey Kirkland. At age 17, Geralyn studied on full scholarship and stipend with The Houston Ballet Academy and at age 19, returned to NYC to audition for The Eliot Feld Ballet, a contemporary ballet company. She was accepted as a principal dancer and eventually was added to the position of Ballet Mistress. While on tour, she taught master classes at various dance companies and colleges.

Geralyn performed at Feld’s home theater in NY, The Joyce Theater, and toured the world for eight years receiving rave reviews from dance critics: Anna Kisselgoff, Jennifer Dunning, Jane Rigney and Clive Barnes in The NY Times, The NY Post, USA Today, and The Village Voice. During her tenure at The Feld Ballet, she also worked with noted choreographers/stagers such as: David Parsons, Victoria Simon, and Irina Nijinska. Geralyn also had the opportunity to guest for Eglevsky Ballet, under the direction of Michael Vernon, among other dance companies, performing the role of Black Swan and The Sugar Plum Fairy.

In 1993, Geralyn auditioned for Broadway and quickly landed her first principal role as (Francoise) in The Red Shoes, with directors Susan Schulman and Stanley Donan and choreographer Lar Lubovitch. Other Broadway credits include principal roles as a dancer/ singer/actress in; The Phantom of the Opera (Meg Giry) with director Hal Prince and choreographer Gillian Lynne; Swing! (principal dancer) with director Lynn Taylor Corbett, Jerry Zaks and choreographers Ryan Francois and Jenny Thomas; Carousel (Louise) with director Mark S. Hoebee and choreographer Robert La Fosse; Urban Cowboy with Lonny Price and Melinda Roy and the regional hit show, Swango with director Tony Stimac and choreographer Robert Royston.

Geralyn’s television appearances include the 2000 Tony Awards, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and numerous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades, industrials, and national commercials. Throughout her career, Geralyn has performed at many prestigious NYC establishments including; Lincoln Center, City Center, Carnegie Hall, The Metropolitan Opera House and Radio City Music Hall. She performed as a pint sized Rockette with Bernadette Peters’ one woman show, The Easter Show, and the premiere of Disney’s, The Lion King.

After Geralyn’s marriage to singer/musician Jamey Garner in 2004, she relocated with her husband to Nashville, TN, and was hired as Ballet Director at the prestigious competitive dance studio, DC Dance Factory. Geralyn and Jamey were then invited to relocate to Dallas, TX in 2006 for his music career where she would continue her passion to teach. Geralyn was immediately hired and taught for many competitive dance studios in the DFW area. For the past 11 years, Geralyn has taught master classes, summer intensives and directed Ballet Programs for leading studios. She has obtained numerous choreography awards for Ballet and Musical Theater and has choreographed full ballet productions to sold out performances for the past nine years.

Many of her students have been on the hit TV show, So You Think You Can Dance and have been accepted and attended professional dance programs such as: SAB, ABT, PNB, HB, The Joffrey, Alvin Ailey, Hub

bard Street Dance, Alonzo King’s Lines, Juilliard, Cedar Lake, Complexions and Netherlands Dance Theater. Her students have competed at Youth America Grand Prix in Dallas from 2013 to present, garnering spots in the Top 12, in both Classical and Contemporary Divisions each year. Geralyn’s ensemble choreography has also been invited to compete at the NYC Finals. Recently, Geralyn served as Artistic/Executive Director at Int’l Conservatory of Performing Arts for three years before venturing out on her own to form her own pre-professional repertory company, GDCdance Co.

Jamey and Geralyn Garner made their way back to Music City in Nashville, TN this past summer of 2017 where she intends to continue sharing her vision and vast experience as a master teacher, choreographer and performance coach, in hopes of guiding talented children of today into our future stars of tomorrow!
