We asked the mentors and staff at ROOTS about what they’re grateful for…. we thought you might enjoy the responses as well. What are you celebrating? Leave a comment below!
What are you most grateful for?
“I’m grateful for family. This year has been one of loss, challenge, and growth for us. The trials can either bring a family together or rip them apart. I’m so grateful to have a family that comes together in seasons of struggle and comes out of it even stronger.” –Jessica Stillman, Dance Program Coordinator
“I am most grateful for time with my people. So many of my friends and my family live hours away, so whenever we get a chance to get together or even just talk on the phone, it makes my heart so happy. I am amazed pretty much daily at how blessed I am to have such wonderful people in my life, so any time I have to be around them, I am deeply grateful for.” –Emily Lindsey, Studio & Marketing Manager
What’s the nicest thing someone did for you this year?
“My 30th birthday was pretty great. We were in the middle of moving, and some sweet friends opened their home so that we could still have a ‘house party’ to celebrate. They generously hosted us.” –Susan Russell, Music Program Director
“My grandparents payed for all my friends dinner on my birthday! It was so generous and it was super appreciated! That is where I get my spirit of generosity.” –Jaclyn French, Voice Mentor
What artist (living or historical) are you most thankful for & why?
“Actually, I can’t pick just one. When it comes to the artistic and creative realm, I am most thankful for the Master Creator from whom it all flows. Every ounce of creative bent any of us has is a gift, and one of our tasks while we are here is to develop and use that gift to reflect Him. To steward it to the best of our ability, tend it, grow it and let it shine. So many to me have done that..which is why I can’t pick just one…” –Alison Stevens, Piano Mentor
“Julie Grooters was my first classical ballet instructor. She taught with passion, enthusiasm, vast knowledge and immense love. It was evident she loved ballet and it was so contagious I fell in love with it as well, and because of the example she set led me to want to teach dance to inspire others as well.” –Haley Mueksch, First Impressions Coordinator
