Emily Lindsey (Studio Manager, Marketing Manager, and Dance Mentor) joined the ROOTS team in April of 2015. She earned her BA from Samford University in 2013 in Family Studies with a concentrated degree in Child Development & Psychology. Emily began working in marketing and business after graduation and fell in love with the science behind it and the personal relationships that it allows you to form with customers and businesses.
Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, Emily was involved in dance competitions, pageants and music education from an early age. She danced at various studios across the Birmingham area for 13 years and transferred those skills to a more serious nature of competition cheerleading and dance in middle and high school. Emily led elementary cheer camps and taught private cheer lessons throughout that time as well, but never lost her love for dance. In college, Emily directed the campus-wide song and dance production, Step Sing, for two years, overseeing music arrangement, choreography, and overall production.
Dance goes deep within Emily’s personal roots, and she is excited to be able to share her love with the little feet and hearts of the ROOTS dancers. She is excited to watch them begin to develop their own passion for dance.
What’s your favorite day of the week and why?
There is just something about Fridays… I love the feeling of finishing out the work week strong and the excitement of the beginning weekend!
I have an unhealthy obsession with Peanut Butter M&Ms.
Dark. With Hazelnut cream.
Place you wish you spent most of your time:
October. (Can that be an answer?)
What type of music do you listen to?
All of the musics. I love music. I love chill singer-songwriter vibes, and I’m also a sucker for a good Top 40 belter (and the occasional show tune…). Nashville is the best because there are so many opportunities to be introduced to new artists with unique sounds and writing styles. Also, I’m a NEEDTOBREATHE fangirl.
