Dear ROOTS Students, Parents & Friends,
Today is a big day in ROOTS’ history.
This past Friday, we officially signed the lease and secured a second ROOTS location, which will enable us to expand our music and dance program beyond the bursting walls of our current building.
Enlarging our capacity opens up a lot of new and exciting opportunities for all of us. Here’s what you can expect:
If you’re part of our dance program, the new space will contain a brand new dance studio–hello sprung floors, mirrors galore and a massive garage door that opens to the outside!–that allows us to offer over a dozen new dance classes–WUT!
We’re especially excited to open more advanced classes for students who are maturing in our program. For those of you with littles who are on a waiting list, it also means that we will be able to open new mini level classes just for you.
If you’re part of our music program, this new space allows us to explore adding or expanding our group classes like: bands, songwriting, early beginner music classes and more.
The new 3000 square foot building–now called “Studio B“–is conveniently located only 1/3 of a mile from our current location right off of Seaboard Lane. To get there, take a right out of the ROOTS parking lot and head north on Seaboard, take the next left onto Bradley Court and look for the second building on the right:
616 Bradley Court
Franklin, TN 37067
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be working quickly to “ROOTSify” the space so we can open on Tuesday, September 6th. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we’re excited, and the team is ready to jump in and help.
Over the next two years, we expect to grow out of this space and find ourselves needing yet another building. It’s our hope that we’ll be in a position to bring music and dance under one roof again in a much larger, and maybe even permanent home. We’re so excited!!
This expansion wouldn’t be possible without the love, loyalty and dedication of our beloved students and parents. Thank you for coming alongside us and believing in our vision to empower students of all ages to reach their greatest potential through the study of music and dance.
When we bought ROOTS nearly four years ago, we started with 15 dance and 150 music students. Today, total enrollment has nearly quadrupled.
Without you, ROOTS would just be a building full of mentors with no one to teach and train.
Because of you, we are a living, (rapidly) growing community of next generation musicians and dancers.
We know that you have ample music and dance options, but we are honored that you have entrusted ROOTS with your gifts and talents.
Thank you, a million times over.
Kyle & Kristy Chowning
Questions & Answers:
Q: How big is the new dance studio?
A: The new dance studio is 900 square feet, approximately 2/3 the size of Studio A’s studio.
Q: When will the new building be open for classes?
A: We plan to open on Tuesday, September 6th, just in time for the K-12 dance season launch!
Q: Will my student have to travel between studios?
A: No. We are building the schedule so that they start and end their dance classes at the same location each day.
Q: Will there be a lobby where I can hang out and watch, like at Studio A?
A: Yes. We are working on creating a full “ROOTS” lobby experience, complete with a TV monitor, snacks, coffee, water, etc.
Q: Why did you call it Studio B?
A: Because we couldn’t think of a better name. Have a suggestion? Email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Will you offer private music lessons at this location?
A: Not at this time.
Q: Will the expansion to the new building mean that the admin team won’t be crammed in the office any longer?
A: Yes. We will be moving about half of the team to offices in the new building.
Q: Where will I go if I need to talk to someone about dance?
A: The best solution is to call and schedule an appointment in advance. However, we will have dance team members on site at both locations during our normal office hours of 10am-5pm Monday through Friday.
